Most of people living in this world desire the perfect things but nothing is perfect. Sometimes in our life we have to face with many obstacles, pains, and hopelessness.
Many people live with an abnormal body, include of visually impaired people. Someone asked me that which one I chose between my legs and my eyes, I chose eyes. At that time, I started teaching a student of a high school for visually impaired students. I found it's hard for them in life without eyes so I chose eyes. And through the time, the students of Nguyen Dinh Chieu special school gave me the answer: "Live positively and everything is ok!".
Nguyen Dinh Chieu school is a school for visually impaired students. Its name is the name of a Vietnamese writer who lived in the early 19th century. He was blind but always tried to write. His poems and writings are so good and meaning that still be kept until today and tomorrow.
Understanding the expense of these visually impaired students, many people tried to help them and give the love to them to make them stronger in life. One of those activities is the establishment of Cultivating future tutor club to help them in studying and career orientation. I have just taken part in the activities of this club since February this year. My friends have joined this activity since September last year. To be a "teacher", I know that the happiness of a teacher is so simple, just need the students to study hard, that's enough :)
Before starting I knew that it's not easy to teach a visually impaired student and I tried to find the most simple way to explain. My student is blind in one eye, and other eye can see dimly. Fortunately he can read and write like a normal student, he doen't need to use Braille table. When he reads he bows his eyes down to the book. If you see he reading, I'm sure that you will feel pity for him and you love your eyes than ever before. Sometimes he was lazy, I was very sad about that and I adviced him, he listened to me and next time he did all the homework I gave him. That makes me happy! He is a man of few words. Rarely did he confide to me but recently he began opening his soul to share his thoghts. He told me the grade he got in class and about his friends. He told me about a friend who is the best student in his class. The eyes of his friend were getting worse but his friend lived optimisticly. I just know to tell him: "Live optimisticly like your friend, not you agree". And I know that he needs to be listened more, I will try to listen to him as much as possible. Hope he always find the happiness in his life.
Returning back to the activities of our club, on 21st April we hold an excursion to History Museum for the students. Everyone in the museum welcomes them. The students were obedient and curious of the history. They have good knowledge in history. When the guide asked them some questions, they answered perfectly (while I didn't know anything, so embarrased :)). I learn much from them and from many members in club. I admire them who are extremely brave in life!
Listen to the guide carefully.
They can touch slightly the artifacts because they can't see.
Help the student go with me touch the thing and describe to him what are carved on it.
I know that it is easier for us to speak than doing. If I were them, I wouldn't have been strong like them. I'm not sure how can I go on my life without the light and color. Perhaps I accustomed to the life with lights, colorful flowers and peaceful sights. Anyway, they gave me the strength to go over the troubles and showed me that I am very happy to be born with an intact body. Therefore, don't give up with any reason because out there many people are fighting everyday to be alive!

Thanks for your comment teacher. I know that club through the Tutor club at my university and some friends in my group. They taught there and I asked them how to join it. The Future cultivating tutor club was created by the Padigogical University and it attracted many students taking part in.

How do you get involved with the school for visually impaired people? Is this something your university arranges or do you do this yourself?
To be a "teacher", I know that the happiness of a teacher is so simple, just need the students to study hard, that's enough :) I love this phrase Blue and I couldn't agree more. My proudest moments as a teacher were the simple thank-yous from my students when they successfully graduated. I won't forget those moments and they help remind me why I am a teacher.
It's awesome that you had a positive influence on your student. I think he will always remember his special teacher. The trip to the university sounds like a rewarding experience for both of you. I am looking forward to your next blog Blue. Keep up the good work. :)
