Earth Day is an international event in support of environmental protection. It is celebrated in nearly 200 countries every year, on April 22. The first Earth Day was held in 1970. Now, more than ever, the world we live in seems to need more and more protection.
Environmental issues are often called green issues. Important aspects of green issues are climate change, species and…

Music v.s English !
3 May 2013 20:59 PM
It’s been a while I have not written anything to this blog. I’m doing well as the usual. I’ve done some tests at school, kept playing the music all the time, as well the football match every week. Time flies when you have fun. For me, I often kill spare time by first playing some tunes, then surfing the webs. I’m hungry now, my stomach tells me you should go and grab a bite. The…

THANKS!
Thanks
Nearly everyone has to thank the members of their family for their help, advice and assistance. Teachers too, are there to help you apart from the education. There are also other people you met, for a short or very long period to whom you are very grateful.
So, leaving out family members and teachers can you tell us about any others in your life? Who are these people? How did they help you? Did you ever thank them?
There are at…

Balancing life and work
A lot of people talk about wanting more balance and flexibility in their work and in their lives, about wanting to achieve “work/life” balance. Work isn't something you do when you’re not living your life. It’s just as much a part of your life as family time or play. You get to choose what matters most to you, and how much attention you wish to give to each area of your life first, second, and so on. If you don't have much control over the hours…

Click here for A Holiday in Edinburgh Part 1
We awoke quite late on Day 2, it may or may not have been related to the lovely Scotch whisky we had enjoyed the night before! We headed to a Cafe on George IV Bridge. From the outside it looked like a pretty unusual small cafe but it stretches around the back of the building and offers glorious views of Edinburgh Castle from the…

Mother' Day
Dear
Today is mother' day. Most of all I wish a happy day for all mothers. Despite, in our country we don't celebrate it because we think mother should have her day EVERY DAY.
How your country celebrates this day and what particular thing you wish your mother.
I would ask if anyone knows why the mother' day is just before the beginning of the spring?

Dublin Day 3
Day 3
Sadly the last day of this trip. I stepped outside the hotel and met the day, grey with a fine drizzle, I walked around the by now familiar area of Temple Bar, taking photos of pubs, buildings and council offices. This year Ireland holds the Presidency of the EU, the European…

My holiday to Edinburgh started at 9.30am at Kings Cross Railway Station in north London. My girlfriend and I walked the long length of the platform, with dozens of other excited passengers, until we found our carriage located near the front of the train. We boarded the train, found our seats and settled in for the 4 hour high speed train from London to Edinburgh.…

Small Story
The man came into the bar. I had finished my hamburger, but still had my drink to finish. The man sat by himself at the end of the bar. He was watching two younger men playing darts. He spoke to no-one.
When the two men finished playing darts, he took from his pocket a small case. The man…

Surprise!
There was a loud knock on the door. I opened it to find our friendly postman standing there with a small box in his hand. I expected it to be vitamins, dog tablets or similar as these are so much cheaper bought on line. I signed for the box and after a chat about the weather, bad as usual, I returned indoors.
This box however, had come from very far away. Not an online purchase then! What could it be? There were three layers of wrapping so the anticipation grew whilst taking these…
