Comment by Gertraud Müller on April 29, 2012 at 13:59 No. vero, they don't speak German they speak slovenian and it is not easy to learn.. maybe some of the old people speaks German but there was a fight between Slovenia and Carinthia (Austria). One part wanted to stay with Austria and the other part wanted to remain with Slovenia so a war took place. Currently along the border the people speaks both German and Slovenia. Nowadays in this area we still have discussion which language is the most important.
Italian is easier to speak than Slovenian. Both are our bordering countrys. wow you know thank you in slovenia ? where did you hear it ?
