New Zealand is a country in the Southern Hemisphere. The capital of New Zealand is Wellington. Only 4 and a half million people live in New Zealand. New Zealand is about 2000 kilometres south east of Australia. New Zealanders speak the English language.

New Zealand Flag
The native people of New Zealand are called the Maori. Maori people call New Zealand Aotearoa - which means the land of the long white cloud. New Zealand is famous for its stunning and beautiful nature - including mountains, rivers, lakes and volcanoes. The most famous animal in New Zealand is the kiwi, which is a small flightless bird. The kiwi is an endangered species, there are not many left alive today.

All of The Lord of the Rings movies were filmed in New Zealand. The most popular sport in New Zealand is rugby; the New Zealand rugby team is called the All Blacks. New Zealand is also famous for dangerous sports. The first ever bungee jump was in New Zealand. New Zealanders love to climb mountains and take part in water sports.

Thanks Vero! I try not to be a chicken in general. :)

That's also a good guess but not the reason. If you take a look at the shape of the country you might find out why!
I have never done a bungee jump either. I don't think I ever will. I'm a chicken.

I'm too scared to do a bungee jump!
There is another reason why it has that name, but that's a good answer!
