That's correct Hendayani. It means to be independent - to be able to do what you want without any worries. That's a good idiom. :)

I ever heard someone said you are as free as a bird. does it mean someone who is independent or what ?

wow, well done jamie:)

in my experience, i remember only those words, idioms and so on, that i meet a lot of time in a text. when the word stucks in my mind i go to find out the meaning of it. just this mathod of learning are suitable for me. so i'll check out the page futher:)
