Today I bought one Thai book from the airport. I have no idea why I should buy it, I just don't want to waste my time when I waited for the plane. I only know that the author is very famous in Thailand, Roundfinger is his penname. So I didn't hesitate to buy it. This book named 'Water in the desert' and it talks about encouragement- he said even the desert is very very large but if you have little water with you, you will survive and certainly, everybody wants to be survive! It's strange that we are little water for the other. And this too, in the very large desert, this book is little water for the traveler, some water in the desert of life!

                                                                                               A book cover

One of the most impressive articles in this book for me is 'The purpose of learning'. This article talk about 'Life subject' and surely there is no life subject taught in school. He talks about the video 'Children Full Of Life', award-winning documentary. And here are some video of it...

A teacher named Toshiro Kanamori give the children homework to write their story in a daily life(diary) then in the next day, he will choose 2-3 students read their diary in front of the class. Many story are told and listened- alternate to say and listen with willing. By sharing their lives, the children realize the important of caring for their friends. Roundfinger said that a good way to learn the life subject is not only learning by yourself but also from the other in case of resemblance and difference.

After I've read all of the book, I closed it with a big smile and lots of 'Kum-lung-jai' (means encouragement in English)

What an interesting book! Your summary inspires me much so I think that the book did inspire you more. :D

I think the way the teacher (in your blog) did is very useful. Everyone has their particular experiences, way of life, feelings and when we share them to each other we can learn from everyone, the painting of our life will be very colorful. Sharing makes everyone closer.

I totally agree with the opinion that "a good way to learn the life subject is not only learning by yourself but also from the other in case of resemblance and difference". You and I, we don't come from the same country, however you teach me many useful lessons from your blogs. :D Thanks Pat.

Ah! I can't see the videos, can you post them again?

I can see that the children open their heart more with their friends. They share their feelings, their pain and finally they find out that the share doesn't take from them anything, they're given more. The children in the first video were in the same pain of loosing someone they love, they can be close together and find the empathy from each other. They know to give an ear to each other, they become more sensitive. And I think the more sensitive from their souls, the more love in their hearts.

"The joy is shared, the joy is doubled. The sadness is shared, the sadness is relieved" - someone told me that.

I like your words- "The joy is shared, the joy is doubled. The sadness is shared, the sadness is relieved" It's so damn true! :D

Thank you Blue.

Beautiful saying Blue....

Thank you for your feedback Blue, you're one of the little water for me! :) hehe

Well, we will learn together.

A inspirational teacher and a very powerful video.

This video shows us the importance of caring for people. I think life learning would be a very useful subject for children. I don't think I had any lessons like this at school.

Do you have any experience of learning about life at school?

I don't, I only study the development of life in school! hehe :p

In my opinion, the way we talk and share our experiences is the part of life subject. I can be the other's teacher and they can also be my teacher because we were all grown up in the different environments places and times so we can fulfill each other.

That's right. We can all learn from each other. I know I learnt a great deal being a teacher in Thailand.

Wow! Is Thailand the first place you start to be a teacher?

Yes. :)

Nice to know that! ;) hehe
