The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog is a famous phrase in the English language. Do you know why?

This phrase is well known because it contains all the letters of the English alphabet! This phrase is short and easy to understand. In the past it has been used to test typewriters and keyboards. This phrase is also often used as writing practice for students in schools.
This type of phrase is known as an English language pangram. A pangram is a sentence that uses every letter of the alphabet at least once.
Can you write your own sentence in English that uses all the letter of the alphabet at least once?

I like your first one. It's long but has a good message. It's actually really difficult to do!

Permalink Reply by Blue Peace on July 3, 2012 at 14:44 Thanks teacher for adding this discussion. It is very interesting and attracting. I have thought of it since the first time I saw it. I think a lot. I try to make a sentence as short as posible but it's too long or very silly!
This is my sentence, it is the shortest one and the most stupid one :D
Six bad yellow squirrels catch five pink fishes in an amazing jungle.

That's really good Blue! A short snappy sentence. Nothing wrong with stupid sentences - I think mine are much stupider!

Permalink Reply by Blue Peace on July 3, 2012 at 14:51 In my language I never know any phrase like that. However there are some interesting poems that the letter begining of each word is the same. Unfortunately if I translate them, you won't see their beauty!
