Her voice is stunning. This song is quite sad, she often sings about regrets.

I'm glad you learnt some new vocabulary!
This is certainly a song to listen to when you feel sad or when you have regrets. I think the song is also about remembering the past fondly but deciding to move on. She is singing about finding someone like you. Perhaps she should be looking for someone different! Katy Perry seems to be looking back at a past relationship with fond memories, but she seems to have already moved on and got over the relationship.

I think you were right too! I agree with what you said.

Permalink Reply by Blue Peace on March 11, 2012 at 18:44 Her boyfriend betrayed her and got married to other girl, she still loves him very much. She remembered her memories with him even what he said, and these memories made her suffering. She was brave to face her trauma. However her love for him is still so strong that she will find someone like him. I think time will erase all and hope she could escape from his shadow and would find someone different, it's better to forget him and forget her trauma! That is just my mind!

A very nice analysis Blue. I wonder if her boyfriend betrayed her or if the relationship just ended because her love was stronger than his. It's difficult to know why the relationship ended, but certainly her boyfriend has moved on and settled down. Adele is still living in the past, missing her ex boyfriend, but this song seems to be a way for her to be able to start living her life again and looking for someone new.

Seems she wants to blame that guy who left her alone here but he could be happy to open relations and end up with the new girl. Since now she still keeps her alone and stays with some good memories about him.
She is pretending to be stronger and trying to be normal by convince herself "Never mind I will find someone like you". Positive thinking could support her, she forgive him and realize the taste of love "Bittersweet", no one can explain if you never taste by your self, the lesson learn if you want to love and beloved. :)

Some nice thoughts and ideas about the song Goi! Maybe you are right, she is pretending she has moved on and trying to convince herself that it is really over. If it was really over would she want to find someone like her ex boyfriend? I think she would probably want to find someone a little different this time!
