We've recently featured some English slang words that come from the name of someone - often a famous person. This type of slang is common in the UK, especially in London! It is usually Cockney rhyming slang. This slang is often used in a fun way - and you can even invent some slang for yourself!

Ruby Murray was a famous Northern Irish singer from the 1950s.
It is not known who Jimmy Riddle was.
Ayrton Senna was a famous Formula 1 racing driver who was killed in a crash 1994.
In case you don't know...Britney Spears is a famous American singer.
Brad Pitt is a very handsome American actor. (Sorry Brad!)
Barney Rubble is Fred Flintstone's best friend in the cartoon series The Flintstones.
Fatboy Slim is an English DJ, singer and music producer.
Chevy Chase is an American comedian and actor. He's very funny.
Jack Jones was a famous jazz singer in the 1960s.

I'm not sure that I pronunciate a foreign name correctly. Therefore I think it is hard for me to create one myself. However I will try. :)

You can select very famous people. Just for fun. :)

Dan Brown - Brown - His hair is Dan Brown.
We also don't need to change their names.
James Herriot - Idiot - He is a James Herriot. (I'm not sure Herriot rhymes with Idiot). If it's not true, please tell me. Anyway sorry Herriot for my opinion. :D

I think Al Pacino - Cappuccino is actually Cockney rhyming slang! Nice one. If you thought of it yourself - well done. :)
