Yesterday April 11th, North of Sumatra the island where I live now happened earthquake Richter 8.2 followed 8.6 at 15:38 and 17:43. My mom, family, and friends in Java island called me to know my condition but I said to them that the quake occured at Northest Sumatra and now I live at the Southest so I am fine.
But I feel sad and worried about what happened in Sumatra such as Aceh, Padang, and Medan. A few minutes after quake, the people escape to higher place, go to masjid, or another city to avoid the sea. They have trauma about earthquake and tsunami in 2004, so they are very scared. It is a pity when I saw news at television, the road was crowded and hospital patients was brought out hospital building to save their live. Actually, Thanks to my God that it didn't happen tsunami because plate fracture occured horizontally, if vertically it'll potentially cause a tsunami.
Hopefully no earthquake and tsunami in the future especially in Aceh. Please pray for Aceh!!!

I heard from the news some cities in south of Thailand ware felt by earthquake. People left from the bluding , beach.
They run out to saft place. We are very good luck. It didn't happen tsunami. @^_______^ @

I am very glad to hear that you are fine Ika! I saw television pictures of people in Indonesia and Thailand running to safe high places. I think people looked more prepared this time, but still very frightened.

Hope all of people in your country will be fine!

I understand that Ika. Nobody wants that to happen again. We must just try to be ready and as prepared as we can be if it does happen again. 5 minutes is a long quake. I've never felt anything like that. It must be very frightening.
