Oscar Wilde - A man of many great quotations!
If there are any quotations you see of Facebook or Twitter that you don't understand - this is the place to ask! We will discuss the meanings of your favourite quotations.
When you add a quotation please tell us who first said it (if you know).
Then tell us why you like it.
If you see your quotation on a picture, or you want to add your quotation to a photo or picture yourself, then that's awesome too!
Here are a couple of my favourite quotations:
Tell me and I’ll forget; show me and I may remember; involve me and I’ll understand. (Chinese proverb)
Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much. (Oscar Wilde)

I like quotations!
“The more I want to get something done, the less I call it work.” - Richard Bach
I like this as it is so true. Do a job you really enjoy and it won't feel like a job!
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” - Mark Twain
“Some men see things as they are and say why – I dream things that never were and say why not.” - George Bernard Shaw

Great quotes. I guess I never see teaching as work - because I enjoy it. Richard Bach was spot on.
Mark Twain is responsible for many great quotes. Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. This is a wonderful sentence. Don't have any regrets!
Did you know that George Bernard Shaw is the only person to be awarded an Oscar and a Nobel prize? Quite incredible!
Wow, i didn't know that about George Bernard Shaw. He was very talented then! It is almost unbelievable to have won two such diverse awards, with them both being such high accolades!

What you are you do not see, what you see is your shadow.——Rabindranath Tagore
I like him very much. There are many beautiful sentences in his poems.
These two sentences tell us some useful things. We should look forward to the future, don't just because one fail to lose more things. And we should have a thothrough understanding of ourselves, don't tell something only from its appearance.

Permalink Reply by Blue Peace on June 2, 2012 at 9:17 Una, I can't catch the meaning of the first sentence, can you explain it to me?
The second sentence is so great!

Rabindranath Tagore was a Bengali poet. Have you read much of his poetry Una?
I have not heard these quotes before; they are very nice. The quotes are very short but actually very thought provoking. Rabindranath Tagore has a great way with words. Thank you for sharing them Una!

Permalink Reply by Blue Peace on June 2, 2012 at 7:06 That's a interesting discussion. I like it very much. I love quotation, it reminds me always to be tenacious in life, move on, smile and stand up after stumble. :)
I love many quotations, this is one of my favorite quotations: "Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a train". (Ralph Waldo Emerson). It prompts me to move on, always find new way to live, make my life different, not go on the path that others left.

I think your quote should be leave a trail.
It's great advice for us all. We should all find the right way to live by discovering things for ourselves. Thanks Blue. :)
