Oscar Wilde - A man of many great quotations!
If there are any quotations you see of Facebook or Twitter that you don't understand - this is the place to ask! We will discuss the meanings of your favourite quotations.
When you add a quotation please tell us who first said it (if you know).
Then tell us why you like it.
If you see your quotation on a picture, or you want to add your quotation to a photo or picture yourself, then that's awesome too!
Here are a couple of my favourite quotations:
Tell me and I’ll forget; show me and I may remember; involve me and I’ll understand. (Chinese proverb)
Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much. (Oscar Wilde)

If you're born poor it's not your mistake, but if you die poor it's your mistake.
An interesting quote from Bill Gates. I guess he's saying that we should take control of our own destiny!
Bill Gates is quite an amazing person. He and his wife have given over $28 billion to charity. In the future he plans to give away 95% of his wealth - which is a lot of money! His foundation also encourages other billionaires to be more generous with their money.
He is very generous. However, try saying that quote to some people in the poorest countries of Africa. It is not their mistake when they die poor as there is no other option.

This quote from Homer Simpson made me laugh today:
How is education supposed to make me feel smarter? Besides, every time I learn something new, it pushes some old stuff out of my brain. Remember when I took that home wine-making course, and I forgot how to drive?
Poor Homer!

A very nice quote. I think it's a Native American proverb. I also found a similar quote from a comedian -
Before you criticise someone you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticise them, you are a mile away from them and have their shoes. Jack Handley.
I thought it was funny!

Alexander Graham Bell
I love this saying ,it reminds me seeing things from different sides.
Feelings change - memories don't
Joel Alexander

Everything has come, we can't change it. We should leave the past behind us, live for the present because it is the gift (present) that the God gives us, plan for the future.

I like that quote from Alexander Graham Bell. It's another saying telling us to live for the present and move on from the past. I didn't know he was a thinker as well as famous inventor. Inventing the telephone would be enough for most people. :)
Permalink Reply by coco on June 11, 2012 at 12:46 I find this yesterday.... ( If you don't like something change it, if you can't change it, change the way you think about it. - Mary Engelbreit. ) I don't know who she is but I like it....but I think it is good sometime to change the way we think...

That's a nice quote. Mary Engelbreit is famous for designing and writing children's books and greeting cards. Perhaps this is a quote she used in a greeting card!
