Why not listen to this southern states anthem... Dixieland. Can you see all the spelling mistakes in the lyrics, I think they are trying to illustrate the sound of the "southern drawl".

The drawl is a hard accent to understand. It's speaking in a slow lazy way. The words are dragged out and sentences almost become one long word!

(willium = william?) was a gay (deceaber = deceaver?)

 

I guess deceiver is correct. Gay had a different meaning years ago too. It meant happy. Occasionally it's still used in this way.
